BBI Healthcare wins National PR Week Award for Balance Activ Brand
We are very pleased to announce that BBI Healthcare won a national award this week at the prestigious PR Week Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
The award, presented by Welsh TV legend Rob Brydon, was for the Healthcare: Ethical and OTC Consumer category for our National BV Day 2013 campaign – an educational piece designed to raise awareness of the condition and help to remove the taboo surrounding the condition Bacterial Vaginosis (BV).
In conjunction with our PR agency Big Communications, the whole Marketing team worked tirelessly earlier this year and it’s fabulous that efforts have been recognised for the brand on a national level. The PR Week awards are ‘The Oscars’ of the PR world so it’s a huge boost to our Balance Activ education campaign.
The awareness day helped to gain exposure for the condition. It used statistics to highlight the high prevalence of BV and scarily low awareness levels in the UK. Emotive case studies were also sourced to help cut through the embarrassment factor. Plus, Embarrassing Bodies presenter and family GP Dr Dawn Harper was also enlisted as a credible medical expert.
Penny McCormick, BBI Healthcare’s Managing Director said: “Over the last 2 years the marketing team, have worked very hard to create far reaching and hard hitting campaigns around this newsworthy condition. PR is a very difficult game, but the team’s passion, dedication and 100% belief in the cause has certainly paid off.”
